Emily Zytaruk, B.Comm, ND
Emily has a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine diploma from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (www.ccnm.edu) in Toronto and her Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University. CCNM is one of only five accredited Naturopathic Medical training facilities in North America. Graduates are recognised as Naturopathic Doctors in Canada and the US. In Australia, Emily is registered as a Naturopath.
She believes it is important to educate the patient and not just prescribe them remedies. You are the only one who can know what works best for you. To this end, all treatment plans are individual for each patient based on their health complaints and what they are willing and capable of changing in their lives.
As the founder and owner of Naturally Active, she believes strongly in the philosophy of the business that being active is the key to improved health.
She is an avid rock climber, kayaker, mountain biker, swimmer and all around outdoors person. Since moving to Australia she has taken up surfing and has also joined the Elouera Surf Lifesaving Club. So far she has participated in the Gong ride and the Shark Island swim.
In 2007, Emily volunteered at a clinic on the island of Ometepe in Nicaragua through Naturopathic Doctors International (www.ndimed.org) and looks forward to other volunteer opportunities in the future.
On 12 May 2010 Emily and her husband welcomed their first son William into the world. He is turning into a very active, happy little boy who is very curious about the world.
On 27 July 2012 we welcomed our daughter Della. Life is definitely busier with two! She keeps me busy running after her but she is a smart, funny little girl.
Emily is currently doing her Masters of Public Health at the University of Sydney.
Emily is registered with the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (www.atms.com.au), member number 23410.
